Artist Statement

"Working in steel allows me to manipulate an inert material into tactile textures and produce objects that appear to move and breathe.

The challenge of instilling movement into metal sculptures of animals and human forms provides both a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

I take steel welding rod and sheet steel and fabricate lifelike forms and masks, using a oxygen/acetylene welding torch."
